Eldorado Turn Signal Flasher

Q. I have a 1994 Cadillac Eldorado. The turn signals work normally about 70-80% of the time, but sometimes they don't work. The emergency flashers operate fine. I found the emergency flasher relay near the steering column but couldn't find the turn signal flasher.

I saw in the owners manual that the car has a turn signal relay and a turn signal module. Could one of these parts be defective and if so where are they located? I did not see these parts in either the trunk or under the hood fuse boxes. If it has a turn signal flasher, where is it hidden?

A. The turn signal flasher and hazard flasher should look identical. And they should be very near to each other. While they are working you need to put your head under the dash and listen to where the "blinking" is coming from. Even if you have to feel it! The real question is when they don't work is it just one side or both? Both sides not blinking would most likely be the flasher. If one side is giving you trouble it could be a broken filament in one of the bulbs. Then you would need to walk around the car to see which bulb is not lit.
