Mitsubishi Eclipse Harmonic Balancer

Q. I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T, 2.0 liter engine, five speed manual transmission, turbo, 76,000 miles, power steering and cruise control. I need to replace the harmonic balancer. I can see it but don't know how to get to it. I looks like I will have to come in from the left front wheel well. Can you give me instructions on how to get to it and replace it?

Thanks,
Bob

Mitsubishi Eclipse Harmonic Balancer

A. You got it right. You have to take the left wheel off and inner fender well to get at the harmonic balancer. Outside of a harmonic balancer puller, there is nothing unusual about this job. You'll see what needs to be done as you go along.
