Chevy Astro Blower Motor

Q. Mr. Ciulla, My 1989 Chevy Astro with 120,000 miles stops blowing Heat or A/C once the engine has been running a while. It only takes a couple of miles of driving and poof! - no air. I replaced the relay to no avail. In fact when the blower stops I can change the relay and it works for a while. The relay I take out is really hot. What should I try next?

Thanks,
Don

A. With the high miles on it I would suspect a high current draw in the motor itself. You could check the switch and harness that goes to it to see if they are hot while it's running. When it stops running is the best time to go hunting for the problem. moving a bad connection should make the fan come on again when you are near the problem area.
