Chevy Silverado ABS Light Came On

Q. Hi! I have a 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500. I'm not sure what size the motor is, all I know is that it is a V-8, with automatic transmission. My question is; I was driving when my ABS light came on and I pulled over to check what I could. I heard a noise coming from my truck even with the key out and in my pocket.

I looked under the truck to see if I could find anything. Well, I found a cylinder looking thing that was humming. I brought my truck home and parked it. The motor or what ever it was under my truck kept on running until my battery went dead. Could you please tell me what you think this might be, and if I could replace it myself. I did have a full pedal of brakes.

Thanks,
Danny

A. You need a new Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM). It can be done by you but it is in a very tight place. Small torx head screws that are facing the floor boards to remove this module.
