Chevy Silverado 1500 Wipers, Lights Q. I have a 1990 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 V-8 4x4, with P/S, cruise, tilt wheel, A/C and 212,000 miles. My problem lies in the electrical system, I believe. When I turn on my lights my windshield wipers come on and the left turn signal is dimly lit but not flashing. I thought it was in the steering column but I changed the steering column and still have the same problem. Can you help?

I have just noticed the problem since the time has changed. I very rarely drive this truck after dark mostly used during daylight hours for work but with the time change I will need to use the lights early in the morning and in the evening now.

A. This sounds like a bad ground connection somewhere. Make sure the negative battery cable is clean and check the ground wires to the effected systems. Don't just look at them, remove the screws and clean the metal where they bolt up. Add a star washer if needed.
