Ford F-250 Door Ajar And Dome Light Q. I have a Ford F-250 and the door ajar stays on with the dome light. I pulled the fuse for the dome light so the battery would not die. The doors are closed. I would like to know if a switch went bad and where it would be. Thanks for your time and hope there is a quick fix. Brian

A. You probably have a bad door switch. Ford usually incorporates the door switch with the door latch. If this is the case on your vehicle, the door panel will have to come off, the door latch removed and either cleaned or replaced.

The other place it would be is in the door A or B pillar.
