Dodge Ram Shifting Problems Q. Dear Mr. Vincent Ciulla, I have a 1991 Honda Accord LX with 98,000 miles on it. Recently the "S" warning light has been flashing intermittently, but I noticed no other problems while driving the car. Then a couple days ago the car started driving bad (i.e. transmission seemed stuck in fourth gear) and I when I shut the car off and put it in park the gear shift locked in the park position.

By using the key in the shift lock I was able to start the car in neutral and change gears. I was able to drive the vehicle home but only by shifting gears manually. All the gears seemed okay but shift was of course no longer automatic.

My question is can you shed any light on this problem? And any idea of cost to fix such a problem (I just put $1000.00 into the front end)? I'm not willing to invest much more into this car. Any help you could give would be very appreciated!
