Honda Civic Crankshaft Bolt

Q. I decided to play shade tree mechanic and change the timing belt in my Honda Civic. I got all the way to the point where I have to take off the pulley from the crankshaft and I can't budge the 17 mm nut. Although all the nuts I've encountered so far are right to tighten, could it be that this nut is to the left to tighten? If no luck with a breaker bar, is it okay to use an impact wrench? I appreciate any help possible.

Thank you,
Ken

Honda Civic Crankshaft Bolt

A. Yes, it is a standard right-hand thread Ken. It is on there tight so it takes some force to get it off. It's perfectly okay to use an impact wrench, in fact it is what I use to remove that bolt.
