Honda Civic EX SRS DTC 1-1 Q. Vincent, I recently read this article in your archives, Honda Civic EX SRS Light, and I have the same problem which happened after a new battery was installed. I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX with all the standard Equipment. I tried clearing the memory in the SRS and your procedure worked like it was supposed to, but did not solve the problem.

The code I am receiving when I read the DTC’S is 11 if that makes any sense to you. If you can help I would really appreciate it.

A. The code clearing procedure is not meant to solve problems. It just clears the codes. If the malfunction is still present, the light will come back on and the code will set again.

DTC 1-1 indicates an "Open Or Increased Resistance In The Driver's Airbag Inflator". Here is the troubleshooting procedure for SRS DTC 1-1.

Since there is a real risk of accidental airbag deployment, I would suggest you let the dealer handle the problem and repair.
