Buick Hates The Rain

Q. Love your site - but I couldn't find any help with my problem. I have a 94 Buick Roadmaster Wagon with the LT1 350 V8, automatic, 70k miles. Lately, its very hard to start on mornings when it has rained over night. It doesn't do it if it rains during the day, only overnight! It cranks and cranks and cranks and finally sputters and spits and starts - then runs poorly for a few minutes. If it doesn't rain, all is fine. I've had it checked all over for bad electrical wires, leaks, etc...all the appropriate computer parts were checked, but nothing found.

Any ideas?

Thanks
John

A. These are the classic symptoms of a cracked distributor cap. What I would recommend is to pull the cap off and look at it very closely. At 70,000 miles, it's due for replacement. I would replace the cap, rotor and ignition wires at the same time.
