Dodge Durango Leaf Spring Problems
Q. Hi, I have a 2001 Dodge Durango and am wondering if you have any knowledge of common complaints regarding the leaf springs on this vehicle. We do not "beat" our truck, nor do we use it for "mudding" or any other activities like that. Our use is simply normal driving under normal conditions.
Yet, we have already had the springs on one side replaced (under warranty which we had to fight for, long story), the other side has the same problem, and has for some time. Does that seem reasonable to you? I would really appreciate your input on this.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
RobertaA. I don't know of any unusual problems with the rear leaf springs of that truck. Leaf springs last the life of the vehicle under normal circumstances so if you had to have them replaced more than twice, I would call Chrysler Customer service, the number is in your owners manual, and file a complaint and arrange an appointment with the Chrysler Factory Representative.
You also may have recourse under your states Lemon Laws.
