Camaro Runs Fine Until Shut Off

Q. I have a 1988 Chevy Camaro 2.8 liter, manual transmission, mileage about 160,000, fuel injected. Question: On the first start of the day it starts fine runs fine sounds fine. Once the car reaches normal temperature while driving it and you shut it off for a while then start it back up, you have to give it gas to start then it runs really rough, doesn't have as much power.

It has a new fuel pump relay, new fuel pump, new fuel filter and new wiring. Also after driving it for a while you can hear the gas cap leaking (sounds almost like a tire going flat) could it be vapor locking or what could the problem be.

A. Possibly the wrong fuel pump? Too much fuel pressure? Have you had the thing scanned? Try removing the gas cap next time and see if it restarts normally. You may just have a bad gas cap.
