Pontiac 6000 Stalls And Dies
Q. Hi! I having trouble with my car and can't seem to find the problem. It has been revving high. On the highway it seems to be revving high and low without changing speed but when I slow to stop, the engine doesn't slow down it seems to be racing then it bogs out as if it is going to stall sometimes it does. Once it wouldn't start again for me until about 20 minutes later.
No noise lights or anything when I tried. When I slow to turn a corner it is like doing a brake-stand, but as soon as I take my foot off the brake my speed increases to about 60 kph in about 1/3 of a kilometer without applying the gas.
I changed the spark plugs wires and fuel filter. Spark plugs were heavily corroded and wires weren't much better. The car ran not bad for a day then went back to its old tricks again. What do I do as I know nothing about fuel injected vehicles.

A. You may have a vaccum leak somewhere. Look under the hood and try to listen for a hissing noise. The ECM could also have a problem intermitantly.
