Tire Question

Q. I was wondering something. Is there a way to determine the factory overall diameter of a car's tires, using the tire figures and rim size? I was wondering if you knew it (it's in John Lingenfelter's book on performance), since I was wanting to take the factory size and go with touring / all-season tires instead of the factory ones.

I was wanting to keep the same tire diameter, and rim width, but go with thinner tires. Like a more modern factory style. Nothing fancy or flashy. Anyways, know where I can find that formula?

A. The best thing to do is to post this question in the General Discussion folder in my Forum. There is a tire expert there who will be able to answer your question far better than I can.
