F-150 Stalling And Rough

Q. I have a 1994 Ford F-150 4.9 liter fuel injection, 5 speed manual transmission with 65,000 miles. At about 45,000 miles it started to develop a rough idle, shortly after it began to stall. It would stall shortly after starting. If I pushed down on the throttle it would run fine again, but when I tried to maintain a study speed it starts to stall again.

Also it is difficult to start after driving it for 10 minutes or so. I have replaced the throttle position sensor and map sensor. I have also sent it to the shop twice and they could find nothing wrong with it except the timing was off. they adjusted the timing, but my problem is still standing.

Thank you for your time
Bob

A. I would look at the fuel pump as the cause of the problem Bob. It sounds like it's starting to go bad. A fuel pressure test would confirm or deny this pretty quickly.

In the mean time, replace the fuel filter. clogged fuel filter could cause similar symptoms.
