Ford Escort Jerking Around Q. Hi Vince, My car jerks to one side when I go to make right hand turns and also when I put my foot on the brake. I was told the ball joints look fine. I have already had an alignment. Could this problem be related to anything in my steering? I have a 1991 Ford Escort. Sincerely, Josie

A. If someone did a wheel alignment on the vehicle, they would have discovered a bad steering or suspension component. I guess I would have to look at the lower control arm bushings (5) to see if they are worn or missing.

If everything in the front looks good, then the rear suspension should be carefully checked for worn or damaged parts.
