Olds Cutlass Ciera Headlight
Q. I have a 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera, 6 cylinder engine. All I want to do is replace a low beam headlight. The instructions in the owners manual seem simple enough: twist bulb socket assembly, remove, replace bulb, replace socket, the end. However, when I popped the hood to take on this simple procedure I found that getting to the bulbs was virtually impossible.
No matter what angle or approach I have tried, I cannot get my hand to the bulb socket. I have not had to change a burned out bulb since the days when you just remove the whole headlight from the front. So, what am I missing in what looks like it should be a simple procedure?
A. Well some of these cars are the same except the whole headlamp is a lot different. There should be a couple of 10 mm bolts holding the complete module in place. Remove them and the lamp can be pulled out to get that bulb out.
