Toyota Cressida Tail Lights
Q. Hi, first I hope this is the correct e-mail. I wanted to ask Vincent a question. I have a 1986 Toyota Cressida. For some reason the tail lights are not working. I have brake lights and I have turn signals.
The car is a four door automatic. I did install a new radio two weeks prior and had no problem. Then my car alarm was set off and the same night I had no tail lights. I changed all the light bulbs, checked all the fuses. (I think I checked all possible fuses) Also I saw a box in the trunk labeled tail light failure sensor. Is this the problem?
Thank you for your time,
TikiA. First thing I would check is the white/black wire coming out of the light switch. If there is no power there and there is power at the green/black wire, you have a bad headlight switch.
If there is no power at the green/black wire, you need to go back and recheck all the fuses with a test light or voltmeter.
