Dodge Air Filter Housing

Q. I have a 1999 Dodge Caravan with a 2.4L engine (4cyl.) How do I remove the air filter housing to change the filter? It looks like a bit of a job, would this be best left to the dealer?

Thanks,
John

A. Well John, it's not as easy as it used to be, but it's not too bad. There are a couple (Maybe three) large thumb screws that may or may not have a ¼' square in the centers. Around the two halves of the housing are some quick release clamps. Just remove these thumb screws and then pop open the clamps and the top half of the housing will come right off. There may be a vacuum line connected to it, so just unplug it. Lift out the old air filter, pop in the new and put it back together. It takes 15 to 20 minutes to do.
