Chevy C1500 Pickup Oil Pan Removal Q. I have a 1995 Chevy C1500 Pickup. It is a single cab, short bed, 5.0 liter engine, 5 speed transmission, A/C, ABS, and cruise control. I would like to know if I would have to do any thing special to replace the oil pan, for example lift the engine up? Thanks...

A. You may need to lift the engine slightly to get it out. If it were me, I would try without first. Put the mark on the balancer at 6 0'clock and there will be more clearance from the crankshaft throws.
