Pontiac Grand Am Crazy Gauges

Q. 1996 Pontiac Grand Am 2.4 liter distributerless ignition. Problem: Upon engine start, all gauges and indicators are erratic, rpm and mph "bounce" from zero occasionally and do not ever indicate properly; temperature gauge drives full hot with red warn indicator, fuel gauge drives full empty with low level indicator; etc. Not associated with any "bumps"; no recent maintenance; no MIL; no trouble codes. Can you please assist with diagnostics?

Thanks,
Bob

A. You may have a bad connection at the PCM or water in a connector somewhere. I would pick one item from the list and get a schematic for it. By tracing one problem you very well may find a cure for all the problems.
