Ford Taurus Has The Shakes

Q. Dear Mr Ciulla: I think you very much in advance for your help I got many important knowledge from your web page. I have 1995 Taurus GL, 3.0 liter automatic transmission. Two weeks ago, in some cases e.g. after red light I can not accelerate from start. I can only hear horn sound from engine, but car did not go forward.

But, if I can accelerate, driving is okay. I sent it to Ford car dealer in Kingston, Canada. The technician said that there are three leakages in the transmission. But transmission is okay. He fixed the leakage. However, in this week, I found another problem. When I accelerate from 0mph to 25 mph, I can feel a clear shake. I also found that oil level in the transmission oil tank is reduced after one week driving.

Could I ask you what's the problem about my Taurus? It is from transmission fault or some other reasons.

Your help is appreciated.
Yong

A. You have a transmission problem. I would take it back to the dealer and tell them it was not fixed and find out what else needs to be done to fix it.
