Pathfinder Cruise Control

Q. My problem is my cruise control. I turn it on. The lights for the Cruise control lights up on dash. I go to set it. It runs a little bit (short random time lengths), then it kicks off. It act like I hit the brakes. But, I did not touch anything. I tested brake sensor, even by-passed it. That is not the problem, it is good.

It works good up to the time it cuts off. After it cuts off, I can't resume it. But, I can use the accelerate button. It will still work, just won't hold the speed. I can reset the speed and it holds it until the next kick off. I checked servo/regulator hose. I even replaced it. With a used one from a 1995 Pathfinder. Did not help. Do you happen to know what it is? Thanks for any help you can give.

1992 Nissan Pathfinder XE 4x4
3.0 liter
Automatic transmission
134,000
Fuel Injection
ABS brakes
P/S - A/C - Cruise control

Thanks,
Jon M.

A. Since you checked the brake switch and replaced the actuator and vacuum line, about the only thing left is the ASCD control unit itself assuming, of course, the wiring is okay.

The ASCD control unit is located inside the left hand trim panel next to the rear seat.
