Pontiac Firebird Engine Mounts Q. Hello Vincent, I have a 1968 Pontiac Firebird convertible, automatic transmission with a 400 CID motor. I am replacing the original 1968 400 CID engine, had a two bolt mount, with a 1973 400 CID Engine which is a three bolt. My question is whether or not anyone manufactures a mount conversion for this setup.

I found conversion mounts that will allow a first generation engine to be installed in a second generation car but none that will fit my application. Can you please advise me if any one manufactures these or if I will have to custom build the mounts?

A. Have you tried a web site for "Pontiac Firebird Clubs"? How about a speed shop? Also, I would suggest calling your local parts guy and see if there is a retrofit mount for this application.
