Mitsubishi Eclipse Clock Stopped

Q. My stepdaughter recently, July 2003, purchased a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse from a Honda used car dealership. The car only has 42,000 miles on it. The clock has stopped working which also means she cannot control the treble and base on her audio system. She took the car to a Mitsubishi dealership hoping it would be something simple like a fuse.

Mitsubishi Eclipse Clock Stopped

They told her that since she didn't have an extended warranty agreement with Mitsubishi, it would be cost prohibitive to fix. They would have to try to rebuild the clock in her car. Is it possible to purchase a rebuilt clock from somewhere or is there another manufacturer that makes a compatible clock she could contact? Suggestions?

Thank you for your help.
Tom

A. There are several types of stereos and tape players that went into that car. I know a new one from Mitsubishi will cost an arm, a leg and your first born. But there is hope that you can at least keep your first born.

Check with the Mitsubishi Parts Department and see if they have reconditioned radios or a radio exchange program. If not, then you can check the local junk yards. They all pull radios, cassette and CD players out of wrecks. And you are not limited in the model, Mitsubishi probably used it in other models and years.

If those two crap out, then you can always go aftermarket.
