Dodge Neon Still Overheating

Q. I own a 1995 Dodge Neon. It's all around a really good car. I am now having a cooling problem and I wonder if you can help me. The car runs hot when the A/C is running in hot weather. In fact it actually overheats. The fans run I changed the water pump, thermostat, temperature sending unit (despite the fact that the fans run) and I even flushed the entire system.

Dodge Neon Still Overheating

But it still overheats in hot weather. What should I do now?? I was thinking of replacing the radiator. Please help!

A. Does it actually overheat, or does the gauge just say it's overheating? The gauge could be indicating an overheat condition when one doesn't actually exist.

If it is, in fact, overheating, then there could very well be a blockage in the radiator. One way to check is to let it get hot enough to turn the fans on. Then shut the engine off and feel the face of the radiator. If you feel any "cold" spots, that indicates blockage. If there are any you would want to consider getting the radiator re-cored or replaced.
