1966 Ford Mustang Won't Start

Q. I have a 1966 Ford Mustang. I started it yesterday and it acted like it was going to die, so I gave it some gas. It died and hasn't started since then. When I turn the key I get nothing, no click, no sound, nothing. My battery seemed dead, so I put another battery in and still get nothing. The lights won't even come on.

I've checked my connections and everything seems okay, although I'm no mechanic.

Any suggestions?
Lisa

A. On the starter there is a fusible link. It looks almost like another wire but it actually there to protect the electrical system. I would have to say that the fusible link is most likely burnt out.
