Nissan King Cab Broken Hood Cable Q. I was wondering if you could give me some advice on how to fix the latch on the hood of my 1987 Nissan King Cab pickup truck. The hood will not open because it seems that the hook is stuck in the closed position. The cable or wire that connects the latch to the release seems to be disconnected and I can't get to it to get a good look without the hood being open (hence the dilemma).

Any advice you could give me would be much appreciated.

A. I've been there a few times. What you need to do is get a long screwdriver or something similar and go up between the grille and radiator from underneath the truck and pop the latch manually.
