Ford Taurus Heat Not Working

Q. Hello, I have a 1996 Ford Taurus and the heat is not working properly. I just had the thermostat replaced, but it doesn't seem to help a lot. The heat works fine if I'm driving on the freeway, but it barely works in city driving. Any suggestions?

Thank you,
Dina

Ford Taurus Heat Not Working

A. A couple of things to check are to make sure the cooling fan(s) cycle on and off as they should. if they are constantly running, the coolant will never have a chance to get hot.

More likely is that the thermostat you put in is probably defective. I would try installing another one first and see what happens.
