Pontiac Grand Am Van Fuel Pump Q. I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am with a 2.2 liter 4 cylinder engine, automatic transmission with about 77,000 miles. The question I have is , when having to replace the electric fuel pump does the fuel tank have to be dropped or is there a access panel on this year model?

A. The tank must come out to replace the fuel pump.
