I have Seen The Light
Q. Hey there... It's a '99 chevy Lumina and it has that deal where the headlights are on all the time. Do you know how to disconnect that feature. I sure would appreciate it.
Thanks,
JohnA. Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) have been a source of controversy since their introduction. It was a federal law mandating DRLs, but I think at some point it was made legal to disable them. Auto makers came up with a procedure to disable them since they were integrated into the whole lighting system. However, some states still require DRLs and disabling them would therefor be illegal.
I would check with your local Chevy Dealer on the legality of disabling them and the procedure for doing it. I have never done it myself so I do not know how it's done.
