Cold Taurus

Q. I suddenly have no heat in my Taurus. I change the thermostat. I flushed the heater core and the engine heats to normal temperature. The car blows cold air only. Is this an electrical problem?

A. It sounds like you lost vacuum to the system. I would suggest checking the vacuum lines from the intake manifold to the vacuum bottle and to the heater control panel. If they are okay, then you have to get under the dash and make sure vacuum is getting to the door motors. If you have vacuum into the system but not to the door motors, then the control panel is bad and has to be replaced.
