Wrangler Brake Lights Out

Q. I have a 1999 Jeep Wrangler. It's a 6 cylinder with a 5-speed. My problem is that for some reason the two outer brake lights don't work. The one in the middle above the tire works just fine. All of the other lights work, including blinkers and tail lights. I checked the bulbs and they're good. Do you have any idea how I could fix this?

Michelle

A. The problem is probably in the Turn Signal (T/S) switch. Power for the third brake light goes directly from the brake light switch to the third brake light. Power for the other two brake lights is shunted through the T/S switch so they can be overridden by the turn signals when signaling a turn.
