S-10 Cruise Control
Q. Hi, My name is Jason and I have been having problems with my truck. I have a 1991 Chevy S-10 4X4, with the 4.3, automatic. I have been having problems with the cruise control. I set it at a speed and once in a while I'll look down and see that my speed is increasing, and it just keeps increasing. I was wondering if you can tell me what is going on, because this also happens in our two full size chevy trucks.

A. I have found that this is usually caused by a bad cruise control module. GM has a special tool, J 42958, for testing the cruise control system and it might be a good idea to have your system checked just to be absolutely sure it is the module.
