Pontiac Check Engine Light Is On
Q. I have an 1986 Pontiac with 177,400 miles on it and the Check Engine Light is on and won't go out. I don't want to spend very much money on my old car so would just like to have the light go out. Someone said to just take the bulb out. I think there must be a better and easier way to go. That is it in a nut shell. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
FJA. That Check Engine Light is trying to tell you that there is something wrong with the emissions system. You need to check the codes to know where to start looking for the problem. Pulling out the bulb will make the light go out but not cure the problem with the car.
