Subaru Wagon Has Defroster Problems Q. I have a 1987 Subaru Wagon, VIN JF1AC43B6HC206388. Air comes out of the vents without problem on all settings, but nothing comes out of the defroster no matter what the setting. To be clear, air comes out of the dash vents even when the button is pushed to DEFROST How would I go about fixing this? Brendan

A. This vehicle has an electric Control Assembly, no vacuum. The most likely problem is a bad Control Assembly. Otherwise you may have a bad HVAC Control Module.

I think I would let the dealer look at this since either part is an expensive replacement.
