Grand Prix Starter
Q. Any suggestions on changing a starter on a 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix 6 cylinder? Looks like one bolt holding it in but not sure.
Thanks...
A. There are two mounting bolts and one bracket bolt. Remove the bolt from the bracket to the starter and loosen the bolt from the bracket to the block so it will swing out of the way. Then you have to take the flywheel inspection cover off to get to the two starter mounting bolts. After they are out, swing the starter down and disconnect the wiring.
Be sure you disconnect the battery negative terminal first or you'll have sparks flying all over the place.
