Isuzu Rodeo Strangeness
Q. Hello, I have a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo LS. Approximately 40,000 miles. 3.2 liter V-6 DOHC, manual transmission, ABS, power steering, air conditioning and cruise control.
The problem: Lately, it has been "stalling" when I come to a stop in Neutral after driving at a fast speed (i.e. on interstate). The engine sounds as if it is revving up and then the brake light, oil light, actually all the dashboard lights come on.
The car starts right away. I have been trying to see if it is just when I stop in neutral but sometimes it does it even when I put the clutch in and stop in gear. I recently had a serpentine belt put in and a "mechanic" said it could be loose? Please help. I value your advice. I keep worrying my car is going to blow up!!!
Thank you!
Steffanie
Omaha, NEA. Loose serpentine belt? I doubt it. There have been problems with the engine grounds on that truck. There is a TSB on the problem and a kit to repair and improve the grounds. I would recommend an Isuzu Dealer check it and if it applies to your vehicle have the kit installed on the vehicle.
