Hydrogen Engines
Q. Hello I would like to see a breakdown of a Hydrogen engine and how it works. If there is a web site or maybe you could demonstrate the mechanics of the engine I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
RickyA. A hydrogen engine is basically the same as any other gasoline powered engine. The fuel system is different to accommodate the different fuel, but essentially everything else is the same. The main advantage of hydrogen as a fuel versus gasoline is that we can make hydrogen in unlimited quantity out of plain water. And the only waste product is water, which can be broken down into hydrogen again. This is referred to as an ecological closed loop.
I did a search on "Hydrogen Engines" and found a number of sites that explain the advantages and dis advantages of hydrogen as a fuel. You can perform the same search and use what information you require.
The most promising use of hydrogen as a fuel is in a fuel cell. Go here for a detailed explanation on How Fuel Cells Work.
