Tough Stratus Problem

Q. I have a 1999 Dodge Stratus, 2.4 liter, automatic transmission, 42,000 miles, fuel injection, P/S, A/C and cruise control. My problem is when the car gets up to speed it will lose power and want to cut off, it won't always cut off sometimes, it just loses power sputters and runs fine.

I've had it back to the local Dodge Dealer and of course it didn't do it on three separate test drives but did it on the way home. I think it is probably something electronic going bad but have no idea where to start looking.

A. The only things I can suggest have probably already been done by the technician who worked on the car. If there are no hard codes set and they can't duplicate the condition, all they can do is check the electrical connections and vacuum lines.

If the problem was more consistent then a road test with a scan tool hooked up would quickly reveal the problem.
