Ford Ranger RABS
Q. My ABS light is on, 1994 Ford Ranger. I've down loaded code, it is 12. Chilton says this means a ground was detected in the fluid level switch during a RABS stop. Another source says to replace control module.
I tried disconnecting the lead from the sensor at the master cylinder reservoir, with no effect. Fluid level is at full. I installed a used control module obtained over internet with no effect. Brakes seem to work fine, no apparent lock up of rear brakes.
Do I just need to clear/reset the light somehow? How do I proceed from here?
Thanks for your help.
A. My Ford service manual says "Code 12 - Loss Of Hydraulic Fluid". Basically it means that the fluid level is low according to the sensor in the brake master cylinder resivoiur, or you have a broken line.
