Camero Acting Funny
Q. 1991 Chevy Camaro 90,000 miles. Just put new battery in. Today on the way home, car ran hotter than usual, by the temp gauge. Then it started to hesitate. Upon stopping at stop light, engine cut off. Radio and lights still worked. I turned off engine for a few seconds and restarted to get home. Car still hesitated.
I have been through several alternators, but usually I lose radio and lights. Any suggestions what problem may be.
Thanks,
KerriA. Somehow this doesn't sound like an charging problem. If it were, I don't think the car would have started back up. I think you may have a problem with the coolant temperature sensor judging by how the temperature reading started to climb. I think the best thing to do is check the computer for stored codes and see if that tells you anything. If the coolant temp sensor starts going bad, it will do the things you describe.
I'm sorry I can't be more precise for you, it would help considerably if I could see the car personally.
