Stuck Crankshaft Bolt

Q. 1994 Acura Interga. Timing belt broke, cannot get crankshaft bolt to break free, have tried impact gun, cannot get crankshaft pulley off to get to cover or install new timing belt.

A. All I can suggest is to spray the bolt threads with some CRC 5-56 and let it soak. Then use the a long, ½" breaker bar to crack it loose. You can really lean on it, the bolt is large enough that the chances of it breaking off are very small. I wish I had some sage words of advice for you, but it's just going to take some work to get it out.

To hold the engine, you can pop the starter out and lock the engine at the flywheel. That will hold the engine while you work on the bolt.
