Lean Ford F-150 4x4

Q. Hi there, I would like to ask a question about my 1996 Ford F-150 4x4. I just put on a new fast flow exhaust, K&N filter and Helix intake on the intake manifold. Now the spark plugs do not show any deposits. This to me seems like the truck is running lean. Is this good or do I have a problem somewhere.

I have changed the fuel regulator that does not seem to make the plugs burn with that light brown colour I want, Just all white or nothing at all.

A. Yes it is running lean. It's not bad you just won't get the performance you would get with a proper mixture. Since there is no way to manually adjust the mixture, I think what you will need to do is go to a speed shop and get a high performance computer or chip. This will essentially richen the fuel mixture and get you back where you belong.
