Grand Am Wiper Malfunction

Q. Dear Mr.Ciulla, I have a Pontiac Grand Am 1996 V-6 engine. There is something wrong with the windshield wipers. They work fine on regular mode but when I put them in high they don't move. I can't think of what it could be. Can you help me out with some answers here??

Thank you.
Aimee

A. It could be the switch, the motor, or the circuit board on the motor, or the wiring between them. You need to have it tested by a good diagnostic tech to narrow down all possibilities.

To check it, unplug the connector at the wiper motor. Turn the key on and wiper switch to high. Check for power at terminal A (gray wire). If you have power there, it's a bad wiper motor. If you don't, then you have a bad wiper switch, or the wire between is broken.
