Nissan Quest Check Engine Light
Q. A month ago I bought a 1997 Nissan Quest. Last week I had the manifold gasket replaced and two days after that the check engine light came on. I took the van back and they said the EGR valve was the thing that triggered the light, it reset so they thought a piece of dirt may have caused it to alarm. This lasted for one day. The check engine light is back on.
Could they have done something when they replaced the manifold gasket? The van is a 3.0 litre, automatic transmission.
Thanks,
RobertA.
The timing would suggest that something they did, either directly or indirectly, caused the Check Engine Light to come on. The key here is what code is being stored in the computer. I would need to know what that code is before I can help youIf you go to an Autozone or NAPA auto parts store they will scan the codes for free.
