Fuel Pump Needs To Warm Up

Q. I own a 1988 Acura Integra and am having a problem with the fuel pump. Sometimes after it's been driven for a while it won't start. I turn on the ignition and don't here the fuel pump pressurizing. After ten minutes it starts and runs fine. I've replaced the fuel pump but the problem still happens.

Please try to help me isolate the problem. I've been to several shops but none of them can find the problem.

Thanks for your help.
Dennis

A. This would be a tough one to diagnose since there is a very short time in which to troubleshoot it. But with Hondas and their main relays I would have to guess you have one that's probably sticking. The main relay incorporates the fuel pump relay in it's construction so I think that would be the next most logical guess. The main relay is located at the back of the fuse box on Integra models.
