DeVille Cluster Bad Q. Dear Vincent, I have a 1986 Cadillac Sedan DeVille and the speedometer isn't working. I'd like to junk for the part but am not sure what part I'm looking for. I've been through the internet looking for help and hit a wall. The speedometer is digital, and it's an "instrument cluster" or something.

It's also expensive. What advice can you give me as far as what part I'm looking for and where it's located on the car. Thank you in advance.

A. It is called a digital instrument cluster and the part number is 25084596. So this is what you will need to look for. You can expect a long and maybe fruitless search. Since it is common for these to go bad, the junk yards are generally picked clean of them.

You can get a rebuilt unit from one of the GM repair centers. If you send me the state you live in I can give you the name, address and phone number of the one closest to you.
