Subaru Legacy Blinking At Him Q. Hi, I have also a 1991 Subaru Legacy LSI 2.2 litre NON turbo front wheel drive it's loaded!!!. I just replaced the transmission and changed the transmission filter and oil recently and every thing looks great actually, but the problem is that it refuses to shift into overdrive after the third gear.

Before the third gear everything shifts fine and on time. Now something I noticed is that after every time I start the car the POWER light for the transmission in the dash starts to blink about 16-17 times then it stops I don't know if that is related to the problem. You think it's may be a bad ground? Please advise.

A. When the POWER light starts blinking that is an indication that there is a malfunction in the transmission control system. By counting the blinks, you will read a code. When you have the code(s), let me know and we'll figure out what we can do.

The long segment (1.2 sec on) indicates a "ten", and the short segment (0.2 sec on) signifies a one.
