Cadillac Don't Run On Water?!?!?
Q. Mr. Ciulla, I purchased fuel for my Cadillac two weeks ago, and the fuel was approximately 50% water. I drove about ½-mile and the auto stopped. I had it towed into a cadillac dealer for repair and they informed me that the motor now has a blown head gasket or a cracked head, can this be possible? The gasoline company tells me they cannot possibly be responsible for this kind of damage.
Thanks in advance,
DuaneA.
In my opinion, it's highly unlikely that the water in fuel caused this. Has this dealer worked on your car before? Have you asked if Cadillacs are prone to blown head gaskets? Something sounds a little fishy here. I would get a second opinion on this diagnosis. Most cars will run with a blown head gasket but not with a ½-tank of water.
